Port Welshpool Harbour

Starboard Lateral Buoys No.25 and No.25A have been Damaged and are Unlit

PREVIOUS NOTICE:  No previous notice issued.

DETAILS:

Mariners are advised that due to a Marine Incident Port Welshpool Harbour Starboard Lateral Mark Buoys No.25 (Q.G) and No.25A (Q.G) guarding the shoals South East of the Port Welshpool RoRo facility have been damaged and are unlit. The buoys remain afloat approximately in position, but their current position has not been accurately assessed. See attached Map with the two buoys circled in red.

The buoys will require exchange. A temporary Lit Starboard Lateral Mark Buoy will be established as soon as environmentally possible.

Mariners are requested to navigate with extra precaution when approaching or departing Port Welshpool Harbour especially at night.

Mariners are advised to arrive and depart during higher tides to mitigate possible groundings on the shoal.
