DETAILS: Mariners and Port Users are advised that the 2023 Edition of Harbour Masters Directions and Port Information Handbook Part 1 for the Port of Corner Inlet and Port Albert has been approved for publication by Gippsland Ports.
With regard to the Port of Corner Inlet and Port Albert this publication supersedes and replaces Gippsland Ports Harbour Master’s Directions and Port Information Handbook August 2016.
The January 2023 Edition of Harbour Masters Directions and Port Information Handbook are separate publications;
- Harbour Master’s Directions Part 1 Port of Corner Inlet and Port Albert – are local directions and additional to the provisions of the Marine Safety Act 2010 and the Port Management (Local Ports) Regulations 2015. These local directions also govern the operation of vessels in port waters and are legally enforceable. It is an offence under s 237 of the Marine Safety Act 2010 to fail to comply with a direction or obstruct a Harbour Master.
- Port Information Handbook Part 1 Port of Corner Inlet and Port Albert – contains information for port users and has been compiled as a port information guide.
Both publications are subject to periodic revision.
Users are responsible for ensuring they are referring to the latest edition of this publication, noting that any printed version is an uncontrolled document and may be out of date. A current version is available on the Gippsland Ports website at; Port Management – Gippsland Ports
Changes which may affect this publication are disseminated through:
- Notice to Mariners for waters covered by Admiralty Charts, ENC Cells, Publications or RAN Hydrographic Charts; and Amendments announced on the Gippsland Ports Website.

Publications Affected: Gippsland Ports – Harbour Masters Directions and Port Information Handbook 2016 edition is withdrawn.
Further Notice: A further Notice shall be issued when Part 2 of Harbour Masters Directions and Port Information Handbook for the Port of Gippsland Lakes is approved for publication.
