Gippsland Ports Navigation Warning

Mallacoota Inlet

Lower Lake No.5 Beacon damaged

DATE:  Tuesday 5th September 2023

DETAILS:  

Mariners are advised that the Mallacoota Inlet Lower Lake No.5 Beacon (Fl.G.6s) formerly in position;

Lat.    37° 32.917’  S

Lon. 149° 45.677’  E               Datum WGS84

Has been damaged and the light extinguished.

Gippsland Ports shall replace the beacon with a temporary lit Starboard Lateral Mark Buoy as soon as possible.

The beacon is laying on the bottom in approximately 1.8m water depth (LAT) and will be retrieved by divers.
