Bancroft Bay

DETAILS: To promote vessel and waterway user safety, Mariners are advised that Gippsland Ports has established two (2) yellow “Watch Your Wake” light buoys in the eastern and western approaches to Bancroft Bay.

The Bancroft Bay eastern approach “Watch Your Wake” Buoy (Fl.Y.1.5s) has been established between Bell Point and Mosquito Point in position;

Lat. 37° 53.395’ S.    Lon. 147° 52.517’ E.           (Datum – WGS84)

The Bancroft Bay western approach “Watch Your Wake” Buoy (Fl.Y.1.5s) has been established to the south of Shaving Point in position;

Lat. 37° 53.878’ S.    Lon. 147° 51.302’ E.           (Datum – WGS84)

To co-incide with the boundaries of the existing 5 knot speed restriction zones a port hand “Lateral Mark” light buoy (Fl.R.4s) has been established to the north of Mosquito Point in position;

Lat. 37° 53.309’ S.    Lon. 147° 51.956’ E.            (Datum – WGS84

To mark the boundary of the 5 knot speed restriction zone around Mosquito Point Gippsland Ports will establish four (4) yellow light buoys. A further Notice shall be issued when this occurs.
