Paynesville Boatyard Services
Conveniently located on prime water frontage at Paynesville, which is renown as the leisure boating capital of the Gippsland Lakes, the facility provide vessel owners with a major boat launching and retrieval facility, consisting of a 120 tonne slipway and a 40 tonne vessel lift.
To complement this service, the boatyard also has the most comprehensive boat maintenance and repair facilities in the region. Well fitted out workshops enable the highly skilled staff to undertake most types of boat repairs and service. The commitment to the environment was recognised in 2003 by being the recipient of the Victorian Coastal Award for Excellence for the innovative waste management program. This has since been enhanced with the installation during 2008 of a state of the art waste treatment plant that was successful in achieving the Victorian Marine Industry Environmental Award 2008.
On site expert staff include qualified shipwrights, fitters and painters. Alternatively customers may provide their own labour or contractors under certain conditions for work on boats in cradles or fit-out berths.
All Boatyard activities meet the requirements of the OH&S Act 2006, whilst contractors are also required to comply with these standards.
Boatyard staff can undertake a comprehensive range of works including:
- Major and minor boat overhauls
- All types of maintenance of wooden boats
- Fibreglass repair
- All types of painting
- Propeller shaft repairs
- Heavy and light metal fabrication and on-site welding
- Rebalancing and repitching of propellers
- Marine engine servicing
- Vessel condition reports
The boatyard can supply all materials for maintenance on your vessel.
All boat slipping, lifting and re-launching activities are supervised by qualified personnel. The boatyard can also load/unload vessels to/from road transport and arrange launching of the vessel at the site.
A wide range of specialist boating equipment and service providers are located within Paynesville’s marine precinct within 400 metres of the boatyard.
Paynesville Boatyard Facilities
Travel Lift capable of lifting vessels up to 40 tonne, with a fitted 2 tonne jib crane available for stepping masts, engine lift outs etc.
Rates are offered for:
- lift out to cradle and re-launch
- lift out to customer trailer
- launch from customer trailer
- lift out - inspect - re-launch
Slipway and winch rated to 120 tonne capable of slipping vessels up to 12m beam and 25m Over All Length, with light and heavy duty scaffolding available.
Well equipped Shipwrights shop providing 570m2 of undercover workshop area.
Heavy engineering shop providing 190m2 of undercover workshop area.
Heavy duty deep water loading wharf.
Multipurpose telehandler 7m reach and 6 tonne lifting capacity.
Up to 22 open air hard stand sites and cradles for out of water maintenance.
Powerful 6,000psi hydroblaster and 18m x 9m washdown compound for efficient environmentally friendly hull cleaning.
One 15m x 9m fully enclosed sandblasting compound to ensure abrasive blasting activities are managed effectively.
One 15m x 8m fully enclosed state of the art atmospherically controlled spray painting booth that can house vessels up to 12m length overall.
Up to six in water fit-out berths.
