Gippsland Ports is undertaking a public consultation process for a potential change to the Vessel Operating and Zoning Rules (VOZR) for Bancroft Bay at Metung.

Over recent years, Gippsland Ports has received complaints regarding the impacts of boat wake in Bancroft Bay, causing damage to moored vessels and risks to the safety of vessel passengers.

We are seeking community views on the options for managing boat wake through possible changes to speed restrictions.

An Information Sheet and Q&As have been prepared to outline the issue and the options being considered.

Information Sheet and Q&As

Gippsland Ports would like to hear your views regarding the options before making a decision.

Any change to the Vessel Zoning and Operating Rules requires the approval of Marine Safety Victoria and must take account of community views.

You can have your say by:

Completing the on-line survey at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/BancroftBayBoatWake

Or  e-mail Gippsland Ports at: feedback@gippslandports.vic.gov.au

Survey responses or any comments are requested by Friday 9th July 2021.
