NOTICE TO MARINERS

Port of Andersons Inlet

Anderson Inlet – buoys removed

DATE:   9 August 2016

DETAILS:   Mariners are advised that the three Special Mark navigation buoys that indicated the limits of the Speed Restriction Zone in vicinity of Point Smythe, NTM 29 (T) of 2014, have been removed. Mariners are further advised that the Isolated Danger Buoy, Fl (2) 6s 2m 2M that was in transit with the three Special Mark navigation buoys, NTM 17 of 2013, has also been removed.
The channels and waterway in vicinity of the “snags” near Point Smythe undergo constant change, vessel operators are reminded to navigate in this region with great caution being mindful of the potential for tree debris to enter the waterway following storm and current induced foreshore erosion processes.
