Notice To Mariners
Port of Gippsland Lakes
Location: Lakes Entrance, confluence of the Narrows and Reeve Channel

DETAILS: Mariners are advised that the Gippsland Ports Cutter Suction Dredge “Kalimna” has completed dredging operations at the confluence of The Narrows and Reeve Channel.
As a result of the channel realignment, Port Lateral buoys No.4 Fl.R.3s and No.6 Fl.R.3s and Starboard Lateral buoy No.1A Fl.G.3s have been moved to indicate the realigned channel. In addition, Starboard Lateral Mark buoy No.1B has been established.
The following table indicates the position changes of No.4, No.6 and No. 1A and the established position of No. 1B.

The Cutter Suction Dredge Kalimna shall be relocated to the area near the Entrance swing basin at the confluence of The Narrows, Hopetoun Channel and Cunninghame Arm.
The Trailing Suction Hopper Dredge “Tommy Norton” shall be continuing maintenance dredging from time to time during daylight hours on the Lakes Entrance Bar, in the Entrance Channel, in the confluence of the Narrows and Cunninghame Arm and in the Narrows to the entrance to North Arm.
“Tommy Norton” maintains a listening watch on VHF Channel 16. Permission to pass “Tommy Norton” must be obtained from the Dredge Master who will indicate when and in which direction it is clear to pass.
