Notice to Mariners

Port of Corner Inlet and Port Albert

Location: Lewis Channel Approach to Port Welshpool Harbour

DATE:  23 May 2019

DETAILS:  Mariners are advised that information gained from the latest bathymetric survey of the approaches to Port Welshpool Harbour, indicates a shoal of least depth 1.8m LAT has progressed into the approach channel adjacent to the Port Welshpool RoRo berth.
Accordingly, Gippsland Ports has established a new starboard lateral mark buoy No.25(a) to guard the shoal.
The starboard lateral mark buoy with the flash character Q.G. has been established in position;

  • Lat. 38⁰ 42.202’ South
  • Lon. 146⁰ 27.861’ East Datum WGS84

The attached Notice includes the bathymetry image indicating the shoal and the position of the new buoy.
