PORT OF CORNER INLET AND PORT ALBERT
WELSHPOOL PIER – FLOATING TIMBER DEBRIS
16 March 2015 – Effective Immediately
Port of Corner Inlet
DETAILS: Mariners are advised that the closed Welshpool Shipping Pier
(also known as the Long Jetty) located in Port Welshpool Harbour
continues to deteriorate and as a consequence timbers from the
structure may fail and collapse into the sea.
Debris may be encountered floating in the vicinity of the Pier, Port
Welshpool Harbour precinct, the Lewis Channel, the Middle
Ground Channel or nearby inter connecting waters depending on
tidal drift. Mariners are advised to take extra precaution when
navigating in this area.
Any persons sighting any debris in the Port of Corner Inlet are
asked to contact the South Gippsland Port Manager on
0428113324 or the Harbour Master on 0427610025. Further
