Bancroft Bay – Mosquito Point

DETAILS: To promote vessel and waterway user safety, Mariners are advised that Gippsland Ports has established four (4) yellow “5 knot light buoys” to mark the 100m boundary of the 5 knot speed restriction zone along the shoreline adjacent to Mosquito Point, Bancroft Bay.
To the South East of Mosquito Point two (2) yellow “5 knot light buoys” have been established as follows;
- Lat. 37° 53.402’ S. Lon. 147° 52.193’ E. (Fl.Y.2.5s) (Datum – WGS84)
- Lat. 37° 53.550’ S. Lon. 147° 52.387’ E. (Fl.Y.2.5s) (Datum – WGS84)
To the South West of Mosquito Point two (2) yellow “5 knot light buoys” have been established as follows;
- Lat. 37° 53.449’ S. Lon. 147° 51.808’ E. (Fl.Y.2.5s) (Datum – WGS84)
- Lat. 37° 53.637’ S. Lon. 147° 51.701’ E. (Fl.Y.2.5s) (Datum – WGS84)
Gippsland Ports shall be withdrawing the Mosquito Point light beacon (Fl.R.4s) from service as this aid to navigation has been replaced by a port hand lateral mark light buoy (LNW No 10 of 2017 refers). A further notice shall be issued on the completion of these works.
