Tide Tables, Webcams and Weather
Tide tables are provided for waterways and coastal areas adjacent to Gippsland Ports area of responsibility. The table can be used to determine the high and low tides using Port Welshpool (Rabbit Island) as a reference. The forecast tides are published in the Victorian Tide Tables booklet available from the Port of Melbourne Corporation.
The webcams, strategically positioned in several locations at Lakes Entrance, are a recent addition to Gippsland Ports operation. The webcams provide "still" shots of the entrance channel that are refreshed at 10 minute intervals.
Like the webcams, the weather station and tidal information has been recently upgraded and is now available on the website. Both the webcam and weather station/tidal information are initiatives of Gippsland ports that will assist waterway users to check prevailing conditions at the entrance and bar at Lakes Entrance and the boat harbour at Port Welshpool.
