Port of Gippsland Lakes Facilities

Easy access to the water is available via public boat ramps at Paynesville, Lakes Entrance, Metung, Johnsonville, Nicholson, Bairnsdale, Eagle Point, Loch Sport, Hollands Landing, Seacombe, Port of Sale and Marlay Point.

Ample accommodation and other facilities are available throughout the area.

The Gippsland Ports depot at Lakes Entrance is the base for the dredge April Hamer which is used to maintain the channel through the Bar and into the Port.

The depot operates the 100 tonne boatlifter at Lakes Entrance. Other services include:

bulletMobile crane (12 tonne) and excavator hire

Paynesville Boatyard

Located at Slip Road  Paynesville, the yard provides the Ports major boat launching and retrieval facilities, a 120 tonne slipway and a 40 tonne Boatlifter.

It also has the most comprehensive boat maintenance and repair facilities in the region. Well fitted out workshops enable the skilled staff of shipwrights, fitters and painters to undertake most types of boat repairs and service.

Gippsland Ports head office is located close to the Port of Bairnsdale. This is where the administration for the five (5) Gippsland Ports is undertaken.
